What is WASS?
     A combination of cameras and secured wireless links, which act as a video surveillance system for wide area protection of a large neighborhood or business district. The system is powered off of the normal utility grid or other alternative power, but uses secured wireless links to communicate, instead of hardline data connections. The main objective is to monitor property, storefronts, and public areas; in an effort to reduce and deter crime. The recorded video is used to assist in prosecuting criminals when a crime is committed, or for accident/disaster reconstruction.
